WILL HISTORY BE REPEATED ?
The children of Israel were God's chosen people for 2,000 years.
Then the leaders of God` s chosen people went to the State, Rome, to have Jesus crucified. He was the Messiah for whom they were waiting. They feared He would affect their religion.
Christianity does well in Palestine, moves to Greece and then Rome where the barbarians that came down from the North and over ran the Great Roman Empire, were converted. FANTASTIC !
Then the leaders of God` s true church at Rome formed the Holy Roman Empire which for over 1,000 years used the State to enforce its teachings and to kill those who resisted .
In 1798 a French Army captures the Pope thus ending much of his political power. A previous pope, John Paul II, has apologized for these wrongs. The Catholic Church of today is a different church with many true believers.
Since 1798 the USA has become the world super power and is the center of Christian endeavors with more churches, preachers, seminaries, publishing houses, and the base for more missionaries.
Our Judeo-Christian-Islamic Religion has roots going back 4,000 years to Abraham who was called out of Ur of the Chaldees which was in Babylonia. Genesis 11 and 12. The descendants of his eldest son, Ishmael, inhabited Arabia, and in early 600 AD founded Islam. The descendants of Isaac were the Jews and the first Christians.
The world` s two largest religions are Christianity with 1.6 billion and Islam with 1.1 billion. Just as there was tension between the two boys in Abraham` s day, so it is at present with the religions.
Extreme Muslims attacked the center of Christianity, the USA, on September 11, 2001. Naturally this has created a suspicion of Islam and all their activities . The plan by Muslims to build a mosque in Murfreesboro, TN has met with fierce opposition here in a land conceived in the principle of religious freedom .
Politically, there is an effort being made to forbid the Islamic Sharia law from being used because of some of its rules and its discrimination against women.
The general view of most is, some fear of Muslims .That they are a natural enemy of the principles of freedom in which Americans believe. Cal Thomas quotes in his newspaper column the motto of the Muslim Brotherhood : "Allah is our objective, the Prophet is our leader; the Quran is our law; dying the way of Allah is our highest hope."
President Obama recently appointed two "Devout Muslims",
Kareem Shora and Arif Alikhan, to high positions at the Department of Homeland Security. I believe that Obama` s father was a Muslim and Obama spent some time in a Muslim home.
As the fear of Islam continues to develop is it possible that we Americans could seek some legislation to preserve our religious values, repeating the history of Israel and the Holy Roman Empire ?
